There are many things to do in and around the Alexandra area, whatever your lifestyle!
Wine novices and oenophiles alike will enjoy grabbing a copy of the Central Otago Wine Map and heading out to visit our local wineries. Most cellar doors will provide you with a free tasting when purchasing a bottle, so stock up for your afternoon picnics by the river.
For active nature lovers, the Central Otago Rail Trail is just a short bike ride down the hill. The Alexandra Basin and hills provide excellent walking and cycling tracks, including the Clutha River Track between Alexandra and Clyde.
Dining out at any of the local vineyards or restaurants is a great option, and there are plenty of cafes for enjoying a coffee after your excursions. Nearby, the old township of Clyde with its picturesque stone buildings has galleries, gift shops, and cafes to explore.
In spring, be sure to visit the Alexandra Blossom Festival, and throughout summer you can visit the Saturday market to meet local artists and artisans.
…or if you prefer to simply relax with a book and a glass of Pinot Noir, we can certainly arrange that!
Visit Alexandra.co.nz or Central Otago NZ and the local iSite visitor centre for more activity ideas.
